Ponies on Parade

Fiala Design Works participated in the Wells Fargo Ponies on Parade event in 2004 as a part of a Public Art Project to benefit Northwest Center, a local non-profit service organization that promotes the growth, development and independence of persons with disabilities through education and rehabilitation programs and work opportunities.

The benefit was modeled after the highly successful Pigs on Parade event and was inspired by the handmade carousel horses that were featured in the annual Seattle classic holiday celebration, publicly displayed throughout the downtown area, November 20, 2004 through January 31, 2005. On March 5, 2005, Northwest Center hosted its "Ponies on Parade" Gala and Auction at the Washington State Convention Center. 

The colorful "Mardi Gras" pony by Nancy Fiala and Jan Griggs was sponsored by Qwest.
